Beautiful photos inside the canyon and out. Moderately difficult, we took care to follow in the paths where guided groups had gone before us. There were exit points from the canyon fairly frequently (we opted to climb out just before fourth bridge).

Beautiful hike between bridge 1-6. Starts at 6 and work your way up so its downhill on the way back. Don't give up at 5... Or you will miss the beauty of bridge 6. Check out the plaques on some of the benches that are memorials for those who played to close. Enjoy and stay safe.

I love coming here every winter. We have never done a paid tour here, we just wander at our own speed. I highly recommend everyone to hike/walk this at least once. The dozens of frozen waterfalls are so beautiful, and to walk along the river and look up the cliffs are breathtaking. I love going far down the river and seeing the circular dents where the water moves fast through and has shaped the rocks. Best time to come is January and I highly recommend ice cleats.

Worked our way back up and entered into the canyon about a quarter way back. Highly recommend a pair of ice stabilization shoes attachments (rented in town for $10 a pair). Brought our ski helmets as an extra precaution.

Amazing views. We did the ice walk on our own. Everything we read said you should take a tour, but we did it on our own and we’re fine. Tons of people were on their own, even with young children. The entrance to the ice walk portion of the hike is clearly labelled and outlines the risks of entering the canyon in the winter. Definitely invest in a pair of ice cleats before you go. We just got some simple ones from Canadian Tire and they were great.

The winter experience at this park is unbelievable. A nice hike down along the canyon reveals ice climbers and spectacular views of the frozen river and canyon. Still amazing at any time of the year. At the bottom of the hike people can walk out on the frozen river and walk up the canyon, admiring the views from a different angle. Highly recommended to all people in Jasper.

Spectacular. Self-guided an ice walk in January. We parked at the main parking lot and walked the easy canyon trail to fifth bridge.

I could see in hindsight how a $75 tour would be worth it (guide and rental equipment included), but we definitely managed on our own. Ice cleats a must, though many other tourists were in sneakers.

Took us 3 hours all in, including plenty of stops for photos.
